Body Length:20-30 cm.

How Big Are Pomapoos Compared to Other Breeds?

Similar in size to other small breeds like Chihuahuas and Toy Poodles. Unlike larger breeds such as Labrador Retrievers or German Shepherds, Pomapoos are more comparable in size to fellow small breeds like Shih Tzus and Maltese. Their small stature makes them ideal for apartment living and easy to handle, contrasting significantly with the physical demands and space requirements of larger breeds.

How Much Variation in Size Is There Amongst Different Pomapoos?

The size variation among Pomapoos can be significant, primarily because of the differences in size between the Pomeranian and the Toy or Miniature Poodle parents. Some Pomapoos lean towards the smaller size of a Pomeranian, while others may be closer to the larger size of a Miniature Poodle. To determine if a Pomapoo is at a healthy weight, check for a visible waist when viewed from above, and you should be able to feel (but not see) their ribs without a thick layer of fat.

When do Pomapoos Stop Growing?

Pomapoo puppies typically finish their growth and reach their full size by the time they are 12 to 15 months old. This is when they are considered fully grown. The exact timing can vary with individual dogs, as smaller dog breeds often reach their adult size faster than larger breeds. During their growth phase, puppies will rapidly increase in size and weight. After about six months of age, the rate of growth slows down significantly and they start to gain more in body proportion rather than size.

Can You Predict the Size of Pomapoos When it is a Puppy?

Predicting the exact size of a Pomapoo when it is fully grown can be somewhat challenging when they are still puppies, but there are indicators that can help. Looking at the size of the puppy’s parents, especially the Poodle parent, can give you a good estimate. Generally, Pomapoos come from a mix of a Pomeranian and either a Toy or Miniature Poodle, so their adult size will likely fall somewhere in between the sizes of these two breeds. Genetics plays a significant role and sometimes, observing the puppy’s paws can give clues to its adult size; larger paws usually suggest that the puppy will grow into a larger adult dog.
